How much grip does the sole give? Plenty you can see. The outsole is black rubber cut with deep square lugs that run the full length of the shoe, the sort of tread that bites into a pavement and holds on a kerb or a gravel path. It is genuine tread, deep enough to read in profile, doing the grip work a running sole does under a leather upper.
