Product information
Frequently bought together
You stand the rear rotors upright, and the thing you were just flying turns into a car.
The K300 Max starts the afternoon in the air. One press of the takeoff button on the grey handset and all four rotors spin up together, the barometric altitude hold catches it at chest height, and it just sits there while you find the sticks. Then you thumb the air and ground button, the two rear rotors tilt from flat to vertical, and the same 20 cm machine drops onto the carpet and blows itself forward into a corner, sliding wide with the tail out.
It measures 20 cm long, 14.5 cm across and 5.5 cm tall, moulded in the ABS the maker lists, with each of the four propellers sitting inside its own round guard. A black canopy over the nose carries the coloured lights. Underneath there is a small swivelling castor in a plastic fork, and beside it the slot where the 3.7V 500 mAh pack slides out with a fingernail.
Key Benefits
- Two modes that really are two modes. The rear rotors physically pivot upright, and the maker explains why: raised blades blow the thrust backward so the body drifts as it turns. Ground mode is not a low hover with a new label on it.
- Altitude hold does the hard part. The specs name a barometric altitude system. It holds a height for you, which is what makes a first flight indoors survivable while you learn the sticks.
- Swap packs instead of waiting. The battery is a module that pulls out from the underside. The one, two and three battery versions are the same aircraft with more packs in the box, and the maker states about ten minutes of flight from a pack.
- Four spare propellers come with it. They are on the accessory list, not an upsell. Blades are the part you break first, so the set arrives with a full replacement round already in the box.
- One key takeoff and landing. Two dedicated buttons on the handset launch it and bring it down, alongside a speed switch, a flip button and trim buttons for each direction.
Best for: someone who wants an indoor and back garden RC toy that does two jobs, and who would rather learn on a 20 cm foam weight quadcopter with guarded blades than on something bigger. Also for the buyer choosing the three battery version because ten minutes at a time is the real limit.
Why It Works
Most flying cars are a hover with a story attached. This one moves the hardware: the rear pair of rotors rotate from horizontal to vertical, so in ground mode the thrust points backward instead of downward and the castor underneath lets the body roll and slide. That is also the honest limit of it. Nothing drives the wheels and nothing steers them, so ground mode is propeller thrust on a rolling chassis, best on a smooth hard floor and unhappy on thick carpet or gravel.
Quick Product Facts: body 20 x 14.5 x 5.5 cm; box 23 x 16 x 9.5 cm; ABS per the maker; four ducted rotors with guards; rear rotors pivot upright for ground drift mode; barometric altitude hold; 2.4G control; control range about 100 m per the maker; flight time about 10 minutes per pack per the maker; removable 3.7V 500 mAh battery; USB charging cable, four spare propellers and manual included; six options are two colours across one, two and three battery versions.
How It Fits Your Routine
Charge the pack off a USB port with the cable in the box before anything else, because a drone with a flat battery on the first afternoon is a long wait. Then find a room without a ceiling fan, press takeoff, and let the altitude hold carry it while you get used to which stick does what. Ten minutes goes quickly.
Once the flying is boring, switch it to the ground. A hallway or a kitchen floor is the right size for this, and the drift only really reads on a hard surface where the castor can slide instead of dig. Outside, keep it to still air and a space you can see across, because 100 m of control range is a lot further than you will want it to be.
Between sessions, pull the pack out and charge the next one. Keep the four spare blades with the box rather than loose in a drawer, because the day you need one is the day one snapped, and check the guards for cracks after a hard landing.
FAQ
Does it genuinely drive as well as fly, or is car mode just flying low? It genuinely does both. The two rear rotors tilt upright and push it along the ground on a castor underneath. Worth knowing before you buy: the wheels are not driven and not steered, so ground mode is thrust on a rolling chassis, and it wants a smooth hard floor.
Is a battery included, or do I need to buy one? Included. The set ships with the aircraft, the 2.4G handset, a USB charging cable, the flight battery, four spare propellers, the manual and the colour box, and the option you pick sets whether one, two or three flight packs come in the box. Charge a pack over USB and you are ready for the first afternoon.
Does it have a camera, and how far does it reach? The nose dome is a lit canopy that carries the coloured lights, so the fun here is the flying and the ground drift rather than filming. The 2.4G handset gives about 100 m of control range on the maker's spec panel, which is more space than you will use indoors or across a garden.
Which colours are they, and is there an age on the box? Red and a bright teal blue. The option list calls the second one green, and the maker's own spec panel says Blue and Red, so read the option photo rather than the word. On age: the box carries no printed age grade, and with small parts and spinning rotors it is one to fly under adult supervision.
