You reach the bathroom door at three in the morning and never touch the switch.
The ceiling light at that hour is a small act of violence. It floods the tiles, your eyes clamp shut, and by the time you are back under the duvet you are awake for another twenty minutes. This little white pod, stuck under the toilet lid, answers the same problem quietly. It picks up movement from about four metres away across a 120 degree arc, and a soft ring of colour spills around the rim before you have crossed the floor.
The shell is glossy white ABS and PP, roughly 98 mm tall and 35 mm deep, and light at 106 g. Two UV lamp beads sit in a recess at the top. Below them there is one round button, then the domed eye of the motion sensor, and a light slot along the bottom edge that throws colour down into the pan. The lamp snaps onto a base you press under the lid with the double sided tape already fitted, so there is nothing to wire and nothing to drill.
Key Benefits
- On as you walk in, off on its own. The sensor reads movement up to 4 m across a 120 degree spread, and the light fades out roughly 90 seconds after you leave. It stays dark in daylight.
- One button for colour. A short press steps through the range, warm white into pink, blue, green, cyan and violet. A long press turns it off.
- Two UV lamp beads on a lid closed cycle. The maker fits a UV lamp that runs about 3 minutes once the lid is shut, then stops by itself. Read the FAQ for what we do and do not claim about it.
- 1800 mAh, charged over USB. Around 4 hours on the cable. The maker quotes about two months per charge at eight visits a day on the lowest brightness. Red light while charging, green when it is full.
- Three second install, IP34 rated. Peel the tape, press the base under the lid, snap the lamp on. IP34 covers splashes, not submersion.
Best for: a household where someone is up at night, a small bathroom shared with light sleepers, a child who will not go alone in the dark, and any toilet where the ceiling light is the only option after midnight.
Why It Works
Most toilet lights are a battery box with a coloured LED and a crude sensor that either misses you or stays lit until the cells are flat. This one is built around the lid instead. Open, it behaves as a night light for 90 seconds. Closed, it switches to the UV lamp cycle for about 3 minutes. The 1800 mAh cell is what makes that practical, because a light that needs fresh batteries every few weeks quietly stops being used. The adhesive base helps too: the lamp lifts off in one motion when you want to charge it or wipe the seat properly.
Quick Product Facts: glossy white ABS and PP shell; about 60 x 35 x 98 mm; 106 g; 0.8 W; rated 36 V or less; IP34; PIR sensor, 4 m at 120 degrees; night light runs 90 seconds after motion; UV lamp cycle about 3 minutes with the lid closed; 1800 mAh rechargeable battery; about 4 hours to charge; USB cable and adhesive base included; model F21; CE marked.
How It Fits Your Routine
First night, you charge it for four hours on the desk, peel the backing off the base and press it to the underside of the lid, centred and about a thumb width in from the edge. Snap the lamp on. That is the install finished.
By the end of the week you have stopped reaching for the wall switch at all. Someone in the house picks a colour and it stays there. If the glow lands somewhere awkward for the shape of your pan, pull the lamp off its base and reseat it a centimetre either way.
Every couple of months the light goes dim, so you take it down, run the USB cable into the port on the back, and leave it until the red charging light turns green. Wipe the white shell with a damp cloth when you clean the seat. Nothing goes under the tap, since IP34 covers splashes only.
FAQ
Does the UV lamp actually disinfect the toilet? We are not claiming that. The manufacturer fits two UV lamp beads and a lid closed cycle of about 3 minutes, and that is as far as we can go. No test report comes with it and no germ reduction has been measured for us, so treat the UV lamp as a listed feature and keep cleaning the toilet exactly as you do now.
Will it fit my toilet? The base sticks to any smooth dry surface under the lid or on the rim, so shape is rarely the problem. Clean and dry the spot first or the tape will let go. The lamp lifts off its base, so you can move it later.
Does it come on during the day? No. It stays off in daylight and only wakes when it senses movement in the dark, which is a large part of how it stretches two months out of one charge.
How is it powered? By a built in 1800 mAh battery, charged through the USB port on the back with the cable in the box. No wiring, no wall socket and no disposable batteries.
