The upper is an open mesh that lets water run straight through and out again, so the shoe sheds a wave instead of holding a puddle as you walk up the beach. An elastic bungee lace pulls snug with one tug of the toggle, with no bow to come loose in the surf, and the low collar slips on and off in seconds.
The outsole is a natural rubber tread shaped around each toe, a split toe design that spreads as your foot spreads for traction on wet stone and pool decks. The sole is a single thin layer, so you feel the ground and move light, closer to barefoot than a padded trainer.
