A cold morning, a soft front tyre, and the whole job happens on the driveway with nothing plugged into the car.

Why It Works

A compressor that runs off the cigarette lighter ties you to the car and to a cable long enough to reach the far wheel. How It Fits Your Routine

Once a month it comes out for the car. Four wheels, the number set once, and the pouch back in the door pocket. The maker gives a worked example of a 195/65R15 going from flat to 30 PSI in eight to nine minutes, which is the right order of magnitude to plan around.

In the hall it does the bike before a weekend ride, with the second nozzle for a Presta valve. In the garden it does the ball and the paddling pool with the cone tip.

Charge it over USB C, which the maker times at three to five hours, and keep it charged rather than remembering it on the morning you need it. Store it out of direct sun with the hose coiled in the pouch.

Can it run continuously until everything is done? No, and the maker says so. The sheet gives about twenty minutes of continuous running followed by a two minute rest. Plan a set of four tyres around that rather than pushing through it.

How accurate is the reading? The maker states plus or minus 1.5 PSI. That is the figure it publishes and it is not a figure we have tested. If a pressure matters exactly, check it afterwards with a gauge you trust.

What is the difference between the two versions? The version whose option name ends in USB DC adds a USB output and a twelve volt lead for the car socket, and weighs 660 g instead of 560 g. The pump, the head and the accessories are the same.

What comes with it? A pump, a braided hose, a Type C charging cable, three nozzles and a manual, in a drawstring pouch. No mains plug is listed.
