How does the light string work?
The lamp is a round disc that holds a thin bead string of warm LEDs wound inside it. You pull the string out and wind it around a tent, an awning or a table, and when you are done a side hand crank reels it back into the disc like a tape measure, so it never tangles in your bag. The disc itself also has a central panel and a ring of LED beads, so it lights on its own even with the string wound in.
How do I charge it?
It charges by USB C from a power bank, a laptop or a USB plug, using the included cable. The disc holds a built in lithium battery, rated from 1800mAh up to 2600mAh depending on the version, which runs a full evening outdoors on a charge. There are no spare batteries to buy or carry, you just top it up by USB before a trip.
Can I hang it up in a tent?
Yes. A folding wire bail handle sits over the top of the disc, so you can hook it onto a tent loop, a tarp pole, a hook or a branch and let it hang overhead. The bail folds flat against the disc when you are not hanging it, so the lamp still sits flat on a table or packs down small.
Is it waterproof?
It is IPX4 splash resistant, which covers dew, mist and a light shower while it is outside. That is enough for normal camping nights and balcony use. It is not made to be left in heavy rain or to be submerged, so bring it under cover in a downpour and charge it indoors.
What is the difference between the warm white and RGB versions?
The standard versions run a steady warm white glow from the panel, the bead ring and the string, with simple brightness modes on the buttons. The RGB version adds colour and set scene modes through a paired phone app, with multi language support, so you can switch between warm white, single colours and moving colour effects for a party or a decorative evening.
What string lengths can I choose?
The warm white versions come with a 10m or a 20m bead string, and the RGB app version comes with a 6m string. A longer string reaches further around a larger tent or awning, while a shorter one is easier to wind quickly around a table or a smaller space. All of them reel back into the same disc body.
Can I use it indoors as well as camping?
Yes. It is built for tents, tarps and campsites, but the same disc and string work well at home too. Hang it over a table, wind the string along a shelf, a headboard or a balcony rail, and use the warm white glow or, on the RGB version, a colour scene as a soft accent light. Then reel the string in and pack it away when you travel.
How bright is it and does it have different modes?
The central panel and the LED bead ring give a soft, even spread rather than a harsh spotlight, which suits cooking, reading and finding gear around camp. The buttons cycle through brightness and lighting modes, and the longer 20m version offers more modes again. The RGB app version adds colour scenes and a rhythm mode that moves with music.
