FAQ
Questions before checkout
How is bakuchiol different from retinol?
Bakuchiol is a plant-based ingredient that works on the same concerns as retinol, such as fine lines and loss of bounce, but it tends to be much gentler. Many people who found retinol too harsh, with tight, flaky or stinging skin, can use a bakuchiol serum daily without those rest days. The Bakuchiol Plumping Serum carries 5,000ppm so it stays effective while being kind to reactive skin.
How many drops should I use and how often?
Two or three drops from the glass dropper are enough to cover your face and neck. Press them in with flat fingertips on clean, slightly damp skin, then follow with your moisturizer. You can use it morning and night. A steady two or three drops each time means the 30ml bottle lasts well and you avoid using more than your skin needs.
What is the difference between the lavender and yellow bottles?
The lavender bottle is the Bakuchiol Plumping Serum, focused on fine lines and bounce, best used at night. The yellow bottle is the Vitamin illuminating Serum, focused on a brighter morning glow. Both come in the same rounded-square glass dropper bottle at 30ml, with the serum tinted to match. Many people use the lavender at night and the yellow in the morning.
Can I use it with my other skincare?
Yes. Apply the serum after cleansing and before your moisturizer, so it goes on the lighter texture first. Bakuchiol generally layers well with hydrating ingredients and is gentler to combine than retinol. In the morning, always finish with sunscreen, since any active that works on fine lines is happier when you protect skin from daytime sun.
Will it feel greasy or pill under makeup?
No. The essence is lightweight and sinks in fast, so it sits cleanly under moisturizer and makeup. To avoid pilling, use just two or three drops, press it in rather than rubbing, and give it a few seconds to absorb before your next step. Applied that way, most people find it disappears into the skin with no greasy film.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Bakuchiol is often chosen exactly because it suits more reactive skin than retinol does, with less tightness and flaking. That said, every skin is different, so it helps to patch test a drop on your inner arm or jaw for a day or two first. Start once a day, see how your skin settles, then build up to morning and night if it feels comfortable.
How long until I notice a difference?
Skin renews slowly, so gentle actives like bakuchiol work best with steady use over weeks rather than overnight. Many people notice skin looks a little plumper and more comfortable within the first couple of weeks, with fine lines softening over a longer stretch. The key is consistency, which is easier here because the serum does not force the rest days harsh retinol often does.
How should I store the dropper bottle?
Keep the glass dropper bottle closed and out of direct sunlight, somewhere cool and dry like a bathroom shelf or drawer. Wipe the dropper tip if it touches your skin so the formula stays clean inside the bottle. Stored this way, the serum holds its texture and color, and the dropper keeps drawing the same steady two or three drops each time you use it.
